Mellow is a 4-year-old New Guinea Singing Dog mix female currently located in Canada. Thoughtful, food-motivated, and highly trainable, she thrives with one on one engagement and would do best as the only dog in a home with no cats or small animals. Travel arrangements can be made for the right match! This is a courtesy post, and the NGSDCA has not personally evaluated her.

Mellow is once again looking for a committed, understanding home where she can truly settle and thrive. She is a 4-year-old New Guinea Singing Dog mix with a thoughtful, sensitive nature and a deep bond to her person once trust is built.

Mellow has a high prey drive, so she will need a home with no cats or small animals. She is extremely food-motivated, which makes her a joy to train for someone who enjoys working with their dog. She loves learning, engaging one on one, and having a job to do, training is how she builds connection and confidence.

She does best as the only dog in the household, as other dogs can be stressful for her. A calm, predictable environment where she doesn’t have to manage canine social pressure is key to her success.

With people, Mellow can be nervous at first, but she warms up quickly with patience and gentle handling. Once comfortable, she is affectionate, loyal, and loves to cuddle with her person.

Mellow has had some challenges with handling, particularly nail care, but she will tolerate it when approached slowly and respectfully. She is muzzle trained and comfortable wearing one for invasive care or vet visits if needed, a strong indicator of the thoughtful training and management already in place.

Mellow would do best in a home with primitive dog experience or someone familiar with sensitive, independent breeds who understands the importance of trust, routine, and clear communication.

Mellow is currently located in Canada, but transport can be discussed and arranged for the right home.

She is not a dog for everyone, but for the right person — experienced, patient, and invested in building a relationship — Mellow has so much to offer.
