Hear the Song of the Oldest Living Dog Breed

New Guinea Singing Dogs, also known as “Singers,” Are the oldest domestic dog breed alive today

But, Their Lives as Domestic Dogs Are in Danger

Due to misinformation, in 2016, New Guinea Singing Dogs and their Dingo “cousins” were reclassified from domestic dogs to exotic animals.

Now, some Singers live in facilities and are part of the exotic animal trade, when where they really belong is on a couch with a family.

We know that this is where they belong thanks to genetic research. Whereas wolves and other wild canines have different genetics from your average pet dog, Singers do not. In fact, there are dozens of Singing dogs living full lives as pets, and some are even titled in AKC and other sporting events.

The New Guinea Singing Dog Club of America is dedicated to educating the public about these rare, but domestic, pets.

How You Can Keep Them Home

The New Guinea Singing Dog Club of America is entirely volunteer run. With your donation, we can continue our work of correcting misinformation about the breed, educating the general public, and helping dogs currently in facilities find families of their own - something every dog deserves.
